Poster Guidelines

PREPARING YOUR POSTER

1. Material used for the Poster

ISC 2024 prefers posters to be large single sheet of paper or flex material that can be rolled and carried in a tube. However, if you do not have facilities for making a single sheet, then making your poster using several sheets of normal A4 or any stationary is acceptable.

2. Orientation and Size

The orientation of the poster is vertical (Portrait mode). The maximum size of your poster should be A0 format or 84.cm tall x 118 cm wide (Landscape mode). Do not exceed these size limits, as the poster board will be of this size. You can also chose 2 sheets A1 format (Portrait mode).

3. Track Name

The name of the Track of to which your proposal was submitted should be at the top of your poster. The Track name should be in letters at least 1 inch high. The Track name should be in black letters on white background

4. Poster Title

Place this under the Track Name. It should be the same as the title of your proposal. It should be in black letters on a yellow background band to distinguish it from the Track title.

5. Author Names & Affiliations

The names and institutions of the authors should be displayed below the Poster Title in a small font.

6. General Poster Design Tips

Other than the above Requirements for Track name, Poster Title, and Author Names & Affiliations, ISC 2024 does not impose any restrictions on the formatting of your poster. We encourage you to be creative. However do keep in mind that:

  • Your poster should be legible from a distance of 3 feet.
  • Use bullet points.
  • Avoid rows of closely spaced text. You should prefer to explain details verbally rather than expect visitors to read small text on the poster boards.
  • Colours should be used wherever possible to establish differences.
  • Charts and diagrams are very useful.

7. Printing

Please print your poster in advance and bring it to the conference with you. The conference does not have a printing facility.

DISPLAYING YOUR POSTER

1. Poster Boards

You can either bring your own stand for the poster, or the conference organisers will provide a Poster mounting board (Whiteboard W-48 inches x H-36 inches) as shown in the attachment with clips/Tape. (The exact location of your poster will be communicated later.)

2. Poster Board number

Each poster board will have a number at the top of the frame. Your poster board number will be conveyed to you shortly before the conference. Pin your poster on the board with your number. Posters of the same Track will be placed next to each other, so your neighbour will be a colleague with the same interests.

3. Mounting and Removing your Poster

You are expected to put up and take down your poster yourself.

Your poster will be displayed for a few hours. You will be notified closer to the conference about the date of your poster display.

Please mount your poster in the morning of your date of poster display and remove it in the evening. The conference will not be responsible for posters left overnight.

4. Poster Sessions – Physical Presence Required

There will be two 1-hour sessions per day on 17th and 18th December where your physical presence will be required. Please be present in front of your poster during the poster sessions on your display date. During these times conference participants may want to discuss your poster with you. You need not be present at other times.

5. Certificates

Poster Presenters will be issued a Poster Presentation Certificate.
